How to Sell Systeme.io Templates for Passive Income

Over the last couple of years, Systeme.io has seen a surge in popularity as thousands of marketers are signing up for it and building 5-7 figure businesses on the platform.

There are several reasons for this:

Systeme.io (SIO) has a very generous free plan that allows you to add a domain, build a sales funnel, run email marketing campaigns and so on.

Even the paid Systeme plans that have increased limits are much more affordable than platforms such as ClickFunnels, Kajabi or Leadpages.

Besides the obvious pricing advantage, Systeme is easy to use, secure, and has automation features.

It also helps that it’s an all-in-one platform and everything integrates and works smoothly.

However, there is one downside to SIO…

  • It has a small learning curve

While SIO’s user interface is user-friendly and almost intuitive, beginners on the platform may feel overwhelmed.

Many Systeme.io users are newbies who aren’t too familiar with the tech aspects of online marketing. Very often, they’re afraid to learn new things because they believe it’ll be too difficult for them.

This is not true – but their mental limitations hold them back.

No matter how many tutorial videos or posts exist on YouTube or the Systeme.io knowledge base respectively, thousands of people will NOT try to learn the ropes.

They’re not mentally ready. This is neither good nor bad… it’s just how it is…

  • This reality is a goldmine for you!

While many newbies will be highly reluctant to learn how to use ‘tech features’ of the platform, they’ll gladly use pre-made templates to simplify the process.

It’s easier, faster and less technical.

They’ll gladly pay for templates… and that’s where you come in.

There’s an often-quoted analogy about “selling shovels during a gold rush”.

It basically means that people who sold tools like shovels often made more reliable money than those searching for gold.

In this example, it means you can make steady money by selling what people need to find their ‘marketing gold’.

Here are a few types of Systeme.io templates you could sell:

  • Sales Pages – High-converting templates designed to showcase and sell products or services.
  • Landing Pages – Optimized templates for capturing leads and driving conversions.
  • Opt-in Pages – Focused templates for building email lists through lead magnets and special offers.
  • Thank You Pages – Templates for post-conversion interactions, offering additional content or upsell opportunities.
  • Webinar Registration Pages – Templates designed to encourage sign-ups for webinars and live events.
  • Checkout Pages – Streamlined templates for a smooth and efficient purchasing process.
  • Membership Pages – Templates for creating secure and attractive membership site areas.
  • Product Launch Pages – Engaging templates for promoting and launching new products.
  • Upsell/Downsell Pages – Templates for maximizing revenue through strategic upselling and downselling.
  • About/Contact Pages – Professional-looking templates for building trust and providing contact information.

Will this work?

You bet, it will.

In fact, if we did a quick search on Etsy for “Systeme.io” you’d see these results…

From the stats, you can see that the vendors are making good sales. There’s definitely a market for these Systeme templates.

A quick Google search for the same term brought up a website called Funnel Vibe in the results…

In the image above, you can see that the vendor has tons of Systeme.io templates for sale and is probably making good money from them.

If they can do it, so can you!

This is what you’ll need!

  1. A Systeme.io account: You can sign up for one here.

It’s important to note that Systeme.io currently has 4 plans: Free, Startup, Webinar and Unlimited.

What we’re most interested in here is the number of sales funnels allowed.

Let’s assume we create one template to sell. This template is referred to as a funnel on Systeme.io. So, if you’re selling 5 different templates, your account must allow you to have 5 funnels.

Do you see where we’re going with this?

If you refer to the image above, you’ll see that the free plan allows you to have 3 funnels. This means that you can create 2 templates for sale.

Why only 2, you ask?

Excellent question. It’s because you need a sales page to offer both templates for sale. This sales page is also a funnel.

So, if you truly wish to build a business selling Systeme templates, it’s best to sign up for the Startup plan which costs only $27 a month and gives you 10 funnels.

If you sell just 3 templates for $9 each, you’d have covered your monthly fee.

It’s manageable and easy. As your business grows, you can upgrade to the higher plan and increase your funnel limits.

  1. A domain name

To truly succeed at this business, you need to treat your business like a business.

Wait, what?

Simple. You need to purchase a domain from Namecheap and add it to your Systeme.io account.

The Funnel Vibe website has its own domain name even though it’s built on the Systeme platform.

A domain name enhances branding, looks professional, and ensures that URLs are neat rather than a long string of gobbledygook characters.

You absolutely need your own domain.

  1. Expertise in designing Systeme.io templates

It goes without saying that to sell templates, you’ll need to know how to create them.

There’s no other way to do this than to get in the trenches and practice using Systeme. This platform provides you several templates to use.

Study these templates and reverse engineer how they were built. This may sound complicated, but it’s easy.

Watch videos on YouTube showing you how to edit Systeme templates and create them. If you take things slow and enjoy the learning and creative process, within a couple of weeks, you’ll be proficiently designing beautiful Systeme templates.

Once you’ve mastered the ropes, it’s time to get to work.

The Process

  1. Create your Systeme.io template.

Study the market. Look at what’s selling and design attractive, high-converting templates for these hot niches.

  1. Build a sales funnel to sell your template.

Your sales funnel will be a sales page and a thank you page where you deliver your download.

  1. Upload your PDF to Systeme.io

One of Systeme’s fantastic features is that it has unlimited file storage space. So, you don’t need services like Dropbox or Amazon S3 to host your file.

Create a PDF with a thank you note and access details… and upload it to Systeme.

If you need a tutorial showing you how to do it, click here: https://help.systeme.io/article/2506-how-to-host-and-share-a-file-on-systeme-io

Do note: The access details in your PDF will need to have the shareable link for the template you’re selling. Once you build a funnel, if you click on the ‘3 dots’ on the right side of the screen and you’ll see a share tab.

Click on it and a pop up with the link will appear.

  1. Add a pop up with exit intent on the sales page

Not everyone who lands on your sales page will buy. Many will try to leave without buying.

This is why it’s imperative to create a pop up that has exit intent activated.

When they try to close the page, the pop up will appear offering them a freebie so that you can capture leads and keep marketing to them via email later.

When creating your sales page, there will be a pop-up button on the top left corner. Click on it and design your pop up.

Then click on ‘edit pop up settings’ and turn on exit intent.

  1. Sync your funnel with your email automation

Once you’ve built your funnel, you’ll want your buyer to be added to one email campaign…

And those who didn’t buy but opted in through the pop up should be added to another email campaign.

You can learn how to setup an email campaign by reading this article: https://help.systeme.io/article/367-how-to-set-up-an-email-campaign

Create your email campaign.

Once that is done, go back to your funnel and click on the ‘Automation Rules’ tab – and click on add rule.

Next, click on ‘Add action’.

A pop up like this should appear…

Click on ‘Subscribe to campaign’ and choose the email campaign relevant to your page.

That’s how it’s done. Whether you’re setting up a landing page or a sales page, the process is relatively similar.

When you play around with Systeme.io and familiarize yourself with it for a few days, you’ll get the hang of it.

If you have any issues, you can always contact their super responsive support desk for help.

What’s next?

Once your sales funnel is set up and everything is integrated well (make sure you do a test purchase to see that it all works smoothly), it’s time to market your products/templates.

While this article is not about traffic generation, here’s how to drive traffic to your offers in a nutshell. Go where your niche hangs out and provide value.

When people start taking notice of you, they’ll be more interested in what you’re pitching them.

One quick way to get the ball rolling will be to do a quick search on Facebook for ‘Systeme.io’ and see what groups show up…

From here, it’s just a matter of joining these groups and adding value. Always try helping others first and deliver value for at least a couple of weeks.

When your engagement in these groups is high, members will take note of you and comment on your posts/replies. If you get favorable comments, send these members friend requests.

Post about your new planners releases on your wall.

Your new friends will take note of what you’re selling and it’s just a matter of time before this organic traffic translates to sales.

Optimize your Facebook profile. Have an attractive cover image for your template website and add a link to your store.

You can either hire someone to design one for you, or you could just use Canva.

This will all help with your organic marketing.

Other than this, you can also sell your templates in marketplaces like Etsy, Gumroad, WarriorPlus and so on.

The more buy buttons you have out there, the higher your chances of getting sales.

Besides these actions, you can also use paid ads to promote your business. There’s a learning curve with paid traffic, but once you master it, the sky’s the limit.

Non-passive method

Once you have several template bundles for sale and consistent traffic, your store will be making money on autopilot.

You did the work once and you’re getting paid repeatedly for it. So, to some extent, this is passive income.

However, as with most online business, there will be ebbs and flows. Some days may see a flood of sales… and on other days, a mere trickle.

Supplementing your income will help keep your business buoyant during choppy waters.

One way to earn a side income will be to offer personalized services on Fiverr – which are related to Systeme.io.

Others are doing it and seeing success…

Since you already know how to build templates, you can do it for others easily.

You can even duplicate the templates you’ve already created – tweak them to look different and deliver the Fiverr order in a fraction of the time.

If you do a good job, you’ll build a list of repeat clients and not only will you be earning from the template sales in your store, but you’ll also be earning on Fiverr.

This is real-world information that works and will allow you to profit with Systeme’s features.

Apply the pointers in this article and in time to come, you may have a 4 or even 5-figure monthly income just from selling Systeme templates.

This a red-hot opportunity that’s ripe for the plucking. Get in on it quickly.
